Splitboarding and ski touring trips from Åre

A full day in the mountains, outside the ski resorts. Depending on snow and weather we head to Storulvån, Skäckerfjällen or Trillevallen and Ottsjö. Storulvån is a beautiful 45-minute drive from Åre. We start around 9 and are usually back between 4 and 5.

New to touring? We show you how to use the gear, how to assess snow safety, how to do a beacon search and how to do kick turns. Then we skin up together and ride down.

Done some touring already? We freshen up your beacon search and terrain reading, and go for a longer day with the chance of several laps.

What fitness do I need?

You should be able to hike uphill for 2 to 3 hours. The ride down is the reward.

Do I need touring experience?

No. If it's your first time, we teach you everything you need on the day.

From what age can I join?

Touring trips are from 16 years old.

What gear do I need?

A splitboard or touring skis with skins, boots, a helmet and a good backpack. Avalanche gear (beacon, shovel and probe) is included in the price. We don't rent out airbag backpacks.

Do I need insurance?

Yes. Make sure your travel or home insurance covers off-piste skiing in Sweden, including medical care and getting home. Not every policy does, and some only cover it when you ride with a qualified instructor or guide. Tim holds the French Brevet d'État in snowboarding, so if your insurer asks, that's the qualification to mention. We may ask to see your policy.

What if conditions aren't safe?

We choose the area based on avalanche danger, wind and snow, a few days before the trip. If no area is safe enough, we move the day. If we have to cancel ourselves, you get your money back in full.

Yes. Tim knows Norway very well and guides multi-day trips there. Send us a message with your dates and ideas.

How do I book and pay?

Send us a message through the form below. Your booking is confirmed once we've received the payment. Booking more than 90 days ahead? Then a 25% deposit is enough, and the rest is due 90 days before your trip.

What if I need to cancel?

Let us know in writing as soon as possible. Cancelling more than 90 days before costs you the deposit, 90 to 30 days before costs 50%, and within 30 days the full amount. We recommend travel insurance from the moment you book.
